I am presently completing my B.A (Hon) in English Literature at the University of Western Ontario (Huron College) working towards my M.A. I am quite interested in pursing a Ph.D. in either Post-Colonial Studies or African-American Literature. The inspiration for my essay "The Indelible Problem: Mulk Raj Annad and the Plight of Untouchability" came from a Post-Colonial class taught by Dr. Teresa Huble whose expertise in the field, personal guidance, and editorial comments greatly assisted in the writing of this paper. I thoroughly recommend Dr. Huble's Whose India? : the Independence Struggle in British and Indian Fiction and History (Durham : Duke University Press, 1996.) for which I found extremely useful in articulating the difficulties of interpreting British and Indian fictions.
