Sri Ruthra Kaliamman Temple

Inside the Temple devotees seek darshan, which literally means "seeing." The image is supposed to bestow blessings upon devotees through the act of seeing. The doorway is flanked by temple guardians. Inside the temple, the principal deity is housed in a small sanctuary called the "womb-chamber" (garbhagriha) which signifies the kernel of the temple.
