Culture, Theory and Critique invites the submission of essays for a special issue devoted to Eurocentrism and its relation to theory. In numerous theoretical debates, influenced by political, ethical, postcolonial and multicultural concerns, Eurocentrism is a notion which has been frequently deployed but rarely analysed. The question is whether it has become a theoretical cliché and, if so, whether it can be rescued for incisive critique.
Possible topics for the issue may include, but are not limited to:
Essays should not normally exceed 7000 words, and should be accompanied by an abstract of 150 words. Three copies of essays should be sent. The deadline for submission of essays is 1 September 2001.
